David Byrne releases cover of Paramore's "Hard Times".

The music was inspired by Talking Heads, a band formed by David Byrne

David Byrne and Paramore released this Friday, the 19th, the cover that the founder of Talking Heads did of the song "Hard Times", by the group led by Hayley Williams .

The track will be available on an exclusive 12-inch vinyl format this Saturday, the 20th, during Record Store Day. The record will feature Paramore's version of Talking Heads' "Burning Down The House" on the B-side.

The cover was announced about a month ago by Paramore themselves, ambassadors for Record Store Day 2024. The band will also take the opportunity to release the album from their "almost remix" project, Re: This is Why, from 2023. This initiative features reinterpretations of the award-winning album, winner of the 2024 Grammy , This is Why (2023), performed by artists who have influenced or cited Paramore as a reference.

“Hard Times” is part of the album After Laughter (2017) and was inspired by Talking Heads, the band founded by David Byrne. “The band told me that this song of theirs was inspired by Talking Heads, so I learned to play it and recorded my version with a horn section, it was a lot of fun!” Byrne shared with fans on Twitter.

Paramore is also among the 16 artists chosen to participate in the tribute album to the classic Stop Making Sense (1984), produced by A24, which also features names like Lorde , Miley Cyrus , The Linda Lindas , Girl in Red , Teezo Touchdown , among others. The band led by Hayley Williams was responsible for the cover of "Burning Down The House" .
